Consideration at Stefani Art Gallery

Stefani Art Gallery represents and exhibits artists whose work demonstrates a sustained commitment to craft, originality, and artistic practice.

We are drawn to work with a clear point of view: art that rewards sustained looking, reflects the individual voice of its maker, and possesses the capacity to remain meaningful beyond a particular moment or trend.

Our program brings together emerging, established, and historically significant artists within a gallery environment grounded in thoughtful curation, professional practice, and long-term stewardship.

Submissions are reviewed on a rolling basis. Because our exhibition and representation program is intentionally selective, availability is limited and submission does not guarantee placement.

Painting

Photography

Mixed media

Works on paper

Select limited-edition fine art

We consider both representational and abstract practices and are particularly interested in artists demonstrating a coherent body of work, technical accomplishment, and a developing or established artistic voice.

We do not select work according to trend. We look for work we believe in and can represent with conviction.

What We Look For

There is no single Stefani aesthetic.

Artists within the gallery work across different subjects, styles, and stages of their careers. What connects them is not visual similarity, but the seriousness with which they approach their work.

In reviewing submissions, we consider:

Artistic voice
Does the work demonstrate an identifiable point of view?

Craft and execution
Does the quality of the work support the artist's intention?

Body of work
Do the individual pieces contribute to a coherent and developing practice?

Originality
Does the work feel genuinely connected to the artist rather than primarily driven by market or stylistic trends?

Professional practice
Is the artist prepared to work within a professional gallery relationship?

Long-term potential
Can we imagine continuing to advocate for the work as the artist and gallery develop over time?

Professional Standards

All submitted work must be original and created by the submitting artist.

Artwork should be professionally presented and exhibition-ready. Framing, finishing, hanging systems, and other presentation details should be appropriate to the work and meet gallery standards.

Artists accepted into gallery exhibitions or representation are expected to maintain consistent retail pricing across galleries, studios, websites, and other sales channels and to disclose existing gallery relationships where relevant.

Participation may also involve artist talks, openings, interviews, editorial features, or other opportunities to help collectors better understand the artist and the work.

How to Submit

Please send submissions by email to info@stefaniartgallery.com.

Include:

• 5–10 JPG images of recent original work
• Images approximately 2000 pixels on the longest side
• Current artist statement
• Current CV or exhibition history
• Artist website and relevant professional links
• Your city and state or region of residence

For each artwork, please include:

• Title
• Year
• Medium
• Dimensions
• Framing status, if applicable
• Retail price
• Availability

Image File Naming

Please name each image:

Lastname–ArtworkTitle.jpg

Example:

Morales–MistyHillMoon.jpg

Clear file naming allows us to match images with the accompanying artwork information during review.

Submission Notes

Submissions are accepted by email only. Please do not bring artwork to the gallery for unsolicited review.

Please send links to video or other time-based work rather than attaching large media files.

Incomplete submissions may not be reviewed.

Because of the volume of inquiries we receive, we are unable to provide individual critiques or feedback on submitted work. Artists whose work we would like to discuss further will be contacted directly.

If the timing or current gallery program is not appropriate, we may retain information about an artist for future consideration.

Representation & Gallery Terms

Artists invited into formal gallery representation work with Stefani Art Gallery under a written agreement.

Gallery commission for represented work is 50%. Commission supports the broader work of representation, including curation, exhibition, collector development, marketing, staffing, sales, administration, and ongoing stewardship of the artist's work.

Payment for sold artwork is issued according to the terms of the artist's gallery agreement.

Specific exhibition, delivery, insurance, geographic, and representation terms are provided and discussed before an artist enters the program.

A Thought Before You Submit

We encourage artists to send us the work that best represents the direction in which their practice is moving, rather than attempting to anticipate what they believe the gallery wants to see.

We are interested in individual voices.

A strong submission does not need to contain everything an artist has made. It should help us understand what matters to you, how you see, and where the work is going.
